Show them the map of California and ask them to name some famous cities in California.

Step 3 Reading
Fast reading
Read the figures, subtitle and picture to get the main idea.
Detailed reading
Read each paragraph carefully and answer some questions
Step 5 Discussion
If you were a California, would you like it to be a multicultural state? List your reasons. Give each group a piece of paper to write their reasons on, then ask three groups to show their discussion.
