Ⅰ.Teaching Objectives

1. Knowledge objective: to get students to know the basic requirements about how to write a job application letter.

2. Skill objective: to get students to master the advanced vocabulary and sentence structure as well as some basic writing skills.

3. Moral objective: to help students form the cooperation spirit by group work and help them learn how to make preparation for the job in the future.

Ⅱ.Analysis of students

Students in this period have little concept about job application letter. They accomplish the writing just with the previous knowledge which is very simple. The reason why I design this class is that I want to introduce some basic skills and good vocabulary to students in order to help them form the good habit of handwriting and the usage of English words or sentences. Besides, students are very tired of memorizing the boring knowledge in English study, so we should think of more methods to motivate their enthusiasm of English study. Thus, in the teaching procedure, we should pay attention the detail of the class design.?

Secondly, to find a good job is of great importance for graduates. So it’s better for our students to learn this kind of writing skill as early as possible..

Ⅲ.Difficult and key points

The important points:

1) The understanding and memorizing of some important vocabulary and sentence structure.

2) How to master the basic writing rule of 5W+CA

The difficult points:

1) How to master the basic writing rule of 5W+CA

2) How to use the typical sentence structure and related words and phrases to write a good job application letter.

Ⅳ.Teaching Procedure

Part 1: Leading in (4minutes)

1. Show some pictures of employment and ask the students:

1) Could you guess what these people are doing?

2) Please compare the two numbers. How many graduates are not employed?
