Based on the understanding of the play made by Bernard Shaw, the teacher aims to raise students’ awareness of learning the standard English in pronunciation, and stimulate learners to study harder by applying the Pygmalion Effect. (本节课通过对《皮格马利翁》剧本及效应的理解,旨在倡导学生学习使用正规的英语发音,并能运用“皮格马利翁效应”来解决实际问题,以此达到智育和美育的双重教学目的。)
3. Teaching aims:(教学目标)
★ Knowledge & ability aims(知识与能力):Try to encourage learners to master some new words and expressions in Bernard Shaw’s play. And strengthen their reading skills by grasping the main idea of the play. (鼓励学生掌握更多的单词与表达,强化阅读技巧,以便理解萧伯纳的剧本《皮格马利翁》。)
★ Process and method(过程与方法): Watch the short film about My fair Lady to get the main idea. Try to apply cooperative learning and Task-based learning to group work. (观看视频并播放听力资料,熟悉电影《窈窕淑女》第一幕;通过小组合作和任务型学习来解决课堂问题);
★ Moral aim & values(情感、态度与价值观): Motivate students to predict next plot of the play and learn to apply Pygmalion Effect to practice. (通过小组合作探究,使学生体验英语学习的快乐,并学会运用皮格马利翁效应来解决实际问题,使自己产生积极向上的情感态度。)

Step1: Lead-in:(主题引入)

【Purpose】(目的) To stimulate Ss’ understanding of the terms and learn the theme of the play. (让学生了解效应内涵并对照剧本主题)
Step3: A brief introduction to the author and the background of the play: (简要介绍作者和剧本背景)
【Method】(方法)By glancing at the basic information about the author and introducing the three main characters. (简要介绍作者并说明本场剧本的三个主要人物)
【Purpose】(目的) Let students make full preparations for the play.(为下一步的剧本理解做好铺垫)
Step4: Watch the video and scan the play: (观看视频并浏览剧本)
【Method】(方法) Set several questions for students to answer. (设置问题以便理解剧本)
【Purpose】(目的)To test Ss’ ability of scanning the play.(训练学生阅读理解的技巧)
Step5: Group work: (小组讨论)
