学情分析:
本篇阅读是皮格马利翁戏剧的第二幕,学生已对这个戏剧有所了解,各项语言活动都是围绕剧本情节展开的。学生好奇心强,求知欲旺盛,喜欢追求戏剧情节,学习激情高,读起来意兴盎然。但是,由于学生英语水平层次不齐,有少部分学生基础差,词汇量小,阅读水平低,听说能力差,而且学习态度不积极,这就要求教师在教学过程中充分调动学生的学习积极性,培养全体学生的参与意识,让他们成为学习的主人,肯定学到的知识,从中领略收获的喜悦,促使他们对剧本的主题有更加深刻的了解。

(1) Master some words and expressions in the play by reading.
(2) Understand each character’s individual characteristics, mentality and different cultural background.
(3) Pay attention to the differences between standard English and non-standard English.
