学情分析：
普通班学生，英语选修课程对于他们来说，文章篇幅较长，语言有些难度，但学生提前预习，对文章的内容有基本的认知。
设计思路：
本篇文章为说明文，所以这节课的目标是让学生以阅读为基础，通过一系列的课堂活动，帮助学生深入挖掘文章，构建文本间的意义关联，分析文本结构，理解主题意义，从语言能力，思维品质及学习能力等方面培养学生的核心素养。具体是以文章的各段的理解，总结各段的大意，提取信息，引导学生构建段与段之间的关联，理解文章的内在逻辑。然后，通过练习，进一步对文章理解，特别是文章的长难句以及需要在具体语境中理解的句子。最后，学生运用所学内容，结合自己的看法，说出植物探索的意义。
