Step 1 Words and expressions review
Get some students to recite the words and expressions.
Step 2 Lead-in
Get the students to enjoy a vedio about an advertisement and introduce the topic of the passage—advertising.
Step 3 Warming up
Task 1: Do a guess game: Show some pictures about advertising slogans and guess what they are.
Task 2: Get the students to discuss the question: Where do you see or hear advertisements?
And then show the answers.
Step 4 Pre-reading
Ask the students to look at each of the advertisements on page 42 - 43 and discuss the question with a partner :
What is the purpose of each advertisement?
Step 5 Discussion
Can you remember the names of any products that were being advertised? If so, why do you remember these and not others?
