II.The Analysis of the Students ( 学情分析 )

Most students have known and grasped lots of words and they have mastered the basic reading skills. They have interest, passion and some competence in English. Students need to solve practical problems with knowledge they learn in class.

Students will be interested in this passage, as it is closely related to their life.

III.Teaching Aims ( 教学目标 )

1. Knowledge aims ( 知识目标 )

a. Students will learn more about the general situations of Australia;

b.Students will be able to learn to talk about Australia using the words and expressions learned in the lesson.

2. Ability aims ( 能力目标 )

a.Students are able to develop reading skills—skimming, scanning and careful reading.

b. Students should practice, participate, and co-operate in classroom activities;

3.Emotional aims ( 情感态度目标 )

a. Students are able to know something about Australian culture, tradition and geography and have a better comprehension towards the unique location and scenery of Australia;

b. Students are able to cultivate a balanced view towards the difference between Australia and China and look forward to visiting it in the future.

a. Students can figure out problems with group members;

5. Cultural aims ( 文化意识目标 )

a. Students should know different cultures and deepen the understanding of world culture.

IV. Teaching methods ( 教学方法 )

a. Task-based Language Teaching :

During the course, different tasks are designed for Ss to carry out. Whether and how they finish the tasks can reflect on how much information they grasp from reading. In return, the teacher can adjust his teaching.
