一、设计思路
1、指导思想
a. The New Curriculum Concept indicates that the English course should meet the individual requirements and create opportunities for the students to show themselves and get all-round development, so I adopt the student-centered model and offer necessary guidance to help the students learn individually and cooperatively as well as make the learning process effective.
b. Based on the Key Competences of English, I set the teaching objectives from four aspects and design the teaching procedure to develop the students’ linguistic competence, thinking quality, cultural character and learning ability.
1). 教材分析
This lesson is to mainly review Unit 1,Book6 so it plays an essential role to arouse the students’ interest in art and enable them to keep scores of key words and expressions in mind related to the topic so that the students can get well-prepared for the following writing task, and have a good knowledge of western and our own art. .
2). 学情分析
The students in Senior Three are basically excellent and active, while they may be shy and afraid of making mistakes; Although the students have been learning English for several years, they may not build their frame of knowledge and get familiar with the word-building ,so they need much more practice to improve their learning skills and much guidance when finishing tasks.With the intention of building their word-building and punning their vocabulary,a large number of practice is needed.

2、教学目标
1). Linguistic competence:
a. Students will be able to know the history of western art
b. Students will be able to build the frame of word-building
c. Students will be able to master important words and phrases in this unit
2). Thinking quality: Students will be able to develop the habit of learning and memorizing phrases by comparing and summarizing.
3). Cultural character: Students will be able to better understand the short history of western art and get Qi Baishi known together with his famous works; admire and inherit Chinese excellent culture.
4). Learning ability: Students will be able to summarize the rules according to the familiar patterns and make correct sentences using the reviewed phrases and learn individually and cooperatively.
3、教学重点与难点。
1.Understand the development of the western art and improve the summary skills;
2.Get more familiar with the words and expressions of this unit and use them correctly to write their own passage about Qi Baishi.
(Based on the analysis of the teaching material and the students, I think, in this lesson, the most important things are to review the important words and phrases by various ways. Besides, the usage of the words and phrases in proper situation is most difficult as the students must process the information they get from the text .)
