Step 1 Warming up

Enjoy a video. Then, discuss what do you think of Wang Deshun? Voice your opinions bravely.

Step 2 Pre-reading

Show some photos of Perce Blackborow, Sir Ernest Shackletonand, sailors and the accident. Let students guess what happened?

Step 3 Fast Reading

First, show the mind map of the passage.

Then, ask students to skim the passage to get the main idea of each paragraph. Pay attention to the first and last sentences of each paragraph. Don’t need to read the whole text.
