Step 2: Lead-in

Sing a song: Are you sleeping?

Then show some pictures.

Look at these pictures and answer the question”What is he doing?”

Step 3: Language Focus

Pay attention to the sentences, and say how to use the Present Continuous Tense.

定义:现在进行时态表示现在(说话瞬间)正在进行或发生的动作。

eg: The students are listening to the teacher.

He is watching TV now.

Point out the form of the Present Continuous Tense

be (am/ is/ are)+doing

1. 肯定句结构: 主语+be +v-ing+其它.

2. 否定句结构: 直接在be后加 not. 主语+be not +v-ing+其它.

3. 一般疑问句结构及回答: 问句,直接把be提前,

Be +主语+v-ing+其它?

肯定回答: Yes,主语 +be. 否定回答: No,主语+be+not

4. 特殊疑问句结构: 疑问词+ be + 主语 + doing?

5. How to change verbs’ V-ing:

1) 一般加 ing .

如: play----playing watch----watching

2) 以不发音的e 结尾,去e 加ing.

如: take----taking make---making
