I Teaching content: Extensive reading

II Analysis of the teaching material

In this period, the teaching emphasis will be put on developing students’ reading ability by reading extensively. We will deal with the text: New Zealand Travel Guide. While reading, let students learn to use some strategies such as, reading, speaking and so on. The text is about New Zealand Travel Guide. The teacher can first show some pictures about travelling to lead in the topic and watch a video about New Zealand. Read the text and finish some tasks. This is an extensive reading lesson, so the teaching steps should be simple but extensive.

III Analysis of the students

Students have learned something about travelling by studying this unit, which is the basis of the extensive reading. However, it's hard for students to understand the difficult questions. Students can finish the simple part by themselves, while they can't think independently without the teacher's help.

IV Teaching goals

1. Language goals;

a. Students will learn some useful new words and expressions in this part.

b. Students will understand the text about traveling.

2. Ability goals:

a. Students will develop reading skills in by extensive reading.

b. Students will grasp the aspects of travel guide.
