Teaching procedures
Step 1 Leading in
Leading in with the pictures of famous universities in China, and then ask students to answer the questions:
Q1 What is your dream university?
Q2 If you fail the college entrance examination,how will you feel and what will you do with it?
Aim: This step is used to lead Ss into the topic--college entrance examination.
Step 2 Pre reading
Activity 1 Analyse the meaning of disaster in the title
Activity 2 Predict by looking at the title and the pictures in the passage
Aim: This step is used to draw Ss’ attention in the passage and practice their ability in prediction.
Step 3 General reading
Read quickly and give the main idea of the whole passage and each part.
