Step 1 Warming up
Revise the different customs in different countries and ask Ss to make conversations according to them using “be supposed to do”
Step 2 Explanation
Explain the meaning of “be supposed to do” and the way that can be used. Then let Ss do some exercises to remember them clearly.
Step 3 Practice
Let Ss say some sentences in their daily life using the sentence form “we are/are not supposed to……,we should/should not……,It is polite/rude to ……”
Step 4 Culture
Ask Ss to learn the cultures about the different customs in different countries.
Step 5 Revising Section A 3a
Revise it by doing exercises and filling in the blanks ,explain some important words and phrases.
Step 6 Read and check
Read the sentences about the table manners in different countries, then tell true or false.
Step 7 Revising the table manners in Japan.
Let Ss fill in the blanks and the teacher explain some language points of them.
Step 8 Revising Section B 3a
Ask Ss to answer some questions about the passage in Section B 3a, and explain the important language points. Then do the exercises about it.
Step 9 E-mail English
Let Ss know when and where to use the e-mail English. And how to write e-mail English.
Step 10 Reading in class
Do the exercise according to the reading material.
