In this period, after the warming up, students will first be guided to go over expressions for news making. Then they shall be reading--My first work assignment “Unforgettable,” says new journalist. They shall go through the following procedures while reading: Warming up by talking about what kinds of jobs do the newspapers have, pre-reading by asking what good qualities of working for a newspaper, fast reading by true or false judgment, skimming by asking questions, scanning by filling the following blanks and guessing the meaning of some expressions, post reading by questions and discussion. This period will be closed down by summary and retelling the story.
Objectives:

To help students better understand “making news”
To help students learn use some important words and expressions
To help students identify examples of “Inversion” in the text
