Analysis of the students:
All of them are senior high school students, who have a basic understanding of the main members in a sentence and the main types of complex sentences such as adverbial clause, attributive clause and noun clause. However, many of them are still puzzled about the types of complex sentences. What’s worse, some of them can’t distinguish between a simple sentence and a complex sentence. Therefore, it is of great importance for them to get a better understanding of how to analyze a sentence.
II Teaching Goals:
Knowledge Goals:
① The students can fully understand the main members in a sentence: subject, predicate, object, predicative, attributive, adverbial, complement and appositive.
② The students can better understand the way to analyze a complex sentence.
Ability Goals:
①Train the students’ summarizing ability.
②Develop the students’ independent learning ability as well as cooperative learning ability.

①Help the students to realize the happiness of group work.
②Help the students to have a positive attitude to life.
