教材分析

The input of this class is based on an application letter about LI Hua applying for a job as a typist. From the given material, students can observe the structure of an application letter to guide their own writings as well as improve their cooperative learning ability.

学情分析

The learners: Senior Two students of medium level

They have learned several types of letter, but don’t know how to writer a letter of application yet.

They have certain knowledge of English; however, they don’t have a large vocabulary. Most of them don’t pay much attention to effective writing skills and need to form good writing habits

Most of students are accustomed to listening instead of attending actively. They need encouragement to take part in the writing activities actively.

教学目标

1.语言知识目标

1)To help students know the whole structure of an application letter

2) master some useful sentence patterns and expressions which will be used in this kind of letter

3) practice their writing ability by filling in a mind map.

2.语言技能目标

1) strengthen students’ summarizing and cooperative learning ability

2) help them improve their logic thinking and the ability of analyzing

3)improve their ability by using the expressions properly in a certain context

4)foster their ability of communication, expressing their opinion fluently in English

foster students’ habit of cooperating with each other learn more about the specific purpose of application letters.
