Don’t… must… can’t… (How to save the animals endangered)
(二)emotion objects:
This unit is about animals in danger. By studying of this section of unit 5, we’ll enable students to know the importance of protecting animals and develop the interest in protecting wild animals and the entire environment.
And this reading lesson will be considered as a conclusion part of unit 5, and the starting of the writing lesson.
B the Important and Difficult Points
(1) Enable Ss to describe the Rare and endangered animals
(2) Seek for some effective measures to save those animals by discussing.
(3) Analysis the reasons of extinction.
(4) Complete the mind map.
C teaching methods
To help Ss develop a good sense of the English language. I use the Communicative Approach, Whole Language Teaching, and the Task-based Language Teaching.
According to the mind map and the PPT provide Ss a real situation with more pictures. I wish to develop the Ss creativity in learning English.
D teaching process
Step1. Warm up(5min)
Show the Ss a movie “if the animals be fat”
Lead-in. (5min)
Review and pre-reading
Pick out the useful expressions of 2b, and have a short listening test.
Let Ss finish 2a. Then with the question “why are they in great danger?” read quickly of 2b and check the best title for the article.
Purpose of my design: To check the homework of the first period of this module and the morning reading effect.
Step2. While-Reading (15min)
1. Ask the students to read the material fast and answer the simple questions of all.
2. Then ask them to read carefully each paragraph for the required questions.
3. Get more reading times to finish the mind map. Ask Ss to read through the article, and full fill the blanks. Make sure they understand clearly.
4. Check the keys.

Step3. Post-Reading. Show the pictures and thinking (5min)

Purpose of my design: To make a summary of the expressions and practice them. Let the Ss use them many times and be familiar with them.
