学情分析:班上大部分学生来自乡村,只有一部分学生小学期间学了英语,上学期连字母、你我他和be动词都要反复讲,这学期在听说读写方面都有了进步,但随着英语知识的深入,学生的学习兴奋往往会很快地减退,还很容易产生厌学情绪,因此在课堂上尽量以鼓励表扬为主,注重培养学习英语的学习习惯和学习方法,营造学习英语的氛围,鼓励学生开口说英语,特别是给基础薄弱的学生创造机会,让他们尝到学习英语的喜悦。

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Revision and Lead-in

Show a video to arouse students’ enthusiasm.

Students can know about the time difference and the customs of Dragon boat festival.

Step 2.Before reading

Present some new words and expressions in the article.

Step 3.While reading

Fast reading: Let students listen to the tape and get the main idea.

Careful reading: Let students read the passage, make some questions for other groups to answer, fill in the chart and answer some questions. Then check the answers with the class.

Step 4. After reading

1. Work on 2c: Now let’s look at the chart in 2c.Let the class match the verbs in Column A with the words in Column B. Then use the phrases to write sentences according to the TV report.

2. Ask some students in groups to retell the passage.

3.Show some pictures to let students know about some other Chinese traditional festivals.

4.Let students make a report on the paper about Zhu Hui’s family and host family on Mid-autumn Day then show it in groups.
