Step 1: lead-in

Good English writing skills play an important role in English learning. However, with the lack of writing skills and limited vocabulary, many students feel lost and puzzled while writing. In an effort to solve this problem, today we will discuss some effective ways to polish an English writing.

Generally speaking, we can polish an English composition from these aspects, including the choice of advanced words, the use of key phrases and some complex grammar structures and so on.

Step 2: prioritize to advanced words

While writing, we are supposed to give priority to advanced words, which are more effective and powerful than normal expressions.

I’ve listed many advanced words in my daily teaching and I’d like to share them with you now.

1. important: vital/ essential/ significant;

2. improve: promote/boost;

3. obvious: evident/ apparent;

4. choose: select

5. busy：occupied

6. want: wish/long/desire

7. remember: memorize

8. finally: eventually/ ultimately

9. find: spot

10. unavoidable: inevitable;

11. understand: digest/ grasp/ catch

12. achieve: accomplish/ fulfill
