《Writing》公开课教案优质课下载

In this period, teaching activities will focus on news reading and writing. The news used in this lesson were extracted and edited from some news websites, such as CNN, BBC, China Daily, etc. which would inform students of the latest news around the world and also teach them how to integrate sentences when involving so much information. The writing exercise asks them to use the structures they have learned from the news to write a piece of news. Basic writing is usually a weak point for many students because they don’t know how to contain so much information in just five sentences. Therefore, teacher should teach them to learn some useful structures in their daily lives.

Get the students to write complex sentences by integrating simple ones and arrange them into an essay.

Enable students to write a piece of news in a correct and easy way.

教学过程

Step 1 Warming up

Ask some students to share some latest news they read from the newspaper or on the internet in one or two sentences.

Step 2 Leading in: News reading

1. Get the students to read a piece of news and find out the functions of the underlined structures.

The flight MH370 departed Malaysia ①and was expected to land in Beijing the same day. ②However, the plane went missing over the South China Sea, ③presumed crashed, ④so ships from countries ⑤which are closest to its flight path scoured(搜索) a large area for any wreckage.

2. Lead in the structures that can be used in sentence integration in an interesting way using the internet buzzwords:

学渣:simple conjunctions(连词): and, or, but, …

伪学霸:clauses: adverbial clause(状语从句), attributive clause(定语从句)

学霸:non-predicate verb phrases(非谓语动词短语)

学神:all of the above.
