学情分析
Analysis of the students
Under systematically learning, students may now have a rough idea of how to write a letter of invitation. They may, however, have problems in basic grammatical problems, like how to correctly express time and place, especially to students in the bottom-middle level. They may also miss interpreting the writing material, fail to add reasonable and necessary information of invitation confirm, which usually comes as a natural ending of an invitation. The most difficult part of the whole writing process lies in how to logically make a polite convincing invitation, which is also a standard telling an invitation from a good one to a better one.
Analysis of the teaching material
The idea of making an invitation writing practical and possible comes from the true and necessary demands that our school actually invites professors from universities nearby to give speeches at the school cultural festival. It is a tradition and students have already experienced it, which makes sense when it comes to an English writing class. All the information, including the photos shown are authentic, which makes the writing closer to students' life. They sure are aroused and encouraged to take part in the activity.
