2.学情分析

Background Information:

Students: Senior high school students, Grade 2

Lesson duration:40 minutes

Student analysis:

These students are Grade Two students, who possess the basic writing skills and can write the simple sentences but often monotonous sentence patterns. That is to say, they can’t use the advanced sentence patterns and structures, especially the varied grammatical structures so they are always bothered by the question “What makes a good composition?”

Teaching Important and difficult Points:

1.Students are able to think of some varied grammatical structures;

2. Students are able to use varied grammatical structures in a proper way;

3. Students are able to finish a piece of writing task by using varied grammatical structures with teamwork.

today?”.?Then?the?teacher?threw a question to the students:

What makes a good composition?

活动2【活动】Step 2 Observation and Discussion

The teacher showed two pieces of writings and let students to judge which one is better.

Students?are?divided?into?groups?of?five?and?are?asked?to?have?a?

discussion about what makes a good composition.

活动3【活动】Step 3　Presentation

The teacher asked some students to present their ideas about a good composition. Then, show the agreed answers.

活动4【活动】Step 4　Discussion and Practice

The teacher gave students a piece of writing task and asked them to discuss step by step with a question in mind what should be considered before writing.
