Analysis of the teaching material
KEESK is a short story written by Jack London. There are some new words in the story. The whole story is expected to be finished reading in 30 minutes.
Teaching procedure
Step1 lead-in (5mins)
Introduce the elements of short novels.(character/setting/plot/theme/point of view)
Talk about the functions of each element.
Step2 pre-reading(5mins)
Show the illustration on P88. How is Keesh dressed? What is he carrying? What do you think he is doing? Where does the story take place? How can you tell?

What did Bok with the meat he brought back?
How many bears did Keesh kill the first time he went hunting?
