As the students of grade one in high school, they have been familiar with the pronouncing rules of English words. At the same time, they have known how to remember the words. However, they are not good at using the vocabulary in communication. So in this class, I would like to guide them how to use the words in the context.

Lead-in
T: What’s the topic of this unit?
Ss: Festivals around the World.
T: What can you think of about “festivals”?
Ss: celebration, custom, gather, ancestor, religious, feast, in memory of, look forward to…
T: well done. This class we’ll revise the key words related to festivals around the world. Let’s begin.
2. T leads Ss to read all the words of this unit for twice. Then give Ss several minutes to practice reading to each other (peer-reading)
