The students have known something about the Attributive Clause and they can do the group work well, but they have difficulty expressing themselves.

Learning important and difficult point:

How to write a letter of request

Learning methods:

Autonomous learning; cooperative learning; presentation

Learning steps:

Step1. Lead-in

1. Get the students to watch a video about the Monkees.

2. Teacher gives a brief introduction using the Attributive Clause.

Purpose: to inspire them to think and talk about music and prepare for next step.

Step2. Guessing Game

1. Invite a student to host the guessing game by cooperative learning.

2. Students listen to the different kinds of music and guess which kind of music it is. Students will get some clues in terms of the Attributive Clause.

Purpose: to introduce the Attributive Clause by listening and speaking.

Step3. Observation and Summary

1. Observe the sentences from the guessing game and do the summary.

2. Make sentences with the given pictures, using the Attributive Clause.

(1)It is our school,…

(2)Our class is a united family, …

(3)Lian Zheng is a warm-hearted boy, who…

(4)Mr. Dong is a gentleman, who…

Purpose: to practice using the Attributive Clause in a practical way.

Step4. Show time

1. Invite Lian and Dong , who have a gift for music, to perform a song and erhu.
