Difficult points: Listening.
Step 1: Preparation
Great the students as usual ,then divide the whole class into two groups. Tell them that we’ll have a competition between them today and we’ll choose the best group at the end of the class.
Show the students some pictures of transportation and teach the new words: train, subway, bus, bike, at the same time.
Step 2.Presentation
Ask the students to look at 1a and match the words with the pictures. Check the answers: a, d ,e ,b, c.
Present the new drills:
A: How do you get to school?
B: I ride my bike /take the train /take the bus/walk etc.
Have students repeat them and make sure they understand them.
Step 3. Practice
Tell the students to look at the picture again carefully and listen to the tape. Then write the number of the name in the white box next to the student individually. Check the answers together.
Students read the tapescripts for a few minutes and make their own conversations about how the people in the picture get to school with their partner. Then act out their conversations.
Step 4.Presentation.
Take out the mobile phone and say: Do you want to know my telephone number? It’s 16070809100.Please read the numbers out one by one. Then present and teach the following numbers:60,70,80,91,100.
Students listen to the numbers in 2a and repeat them. Then finish the task. Pay attention the pronunciation and the writing of the numbers.
Step 5.Practice.
Ss look at 2b. carefully and make sure they’ve know the meanings of “how long ” and “how far”.
“how long” “多久”对一段时间提问。
“how far” “多远”对距离提问.
2.For 2b,students listen to the tape and fill in the first column in the chart. Then listen to the tape again and check the answers in 2b. Students read the tapescripts for a few minutes.
Step 6.Production.
Students make a dialogue with the information in 2b in pairs. One student is Jane, the other is Tom. Then act out their dialogues.
Step 7. Progress.
Do a survey after class like this.
