二、学情分析
教学对象是初一学生(以中等生为主),?对英语较感兴趣,?好奇心强,求知欲较旺盛,他们学习英语既感到好奇又担忧,希望能得到他人的肯定。因此我在教学活动中尽量让他们参与到活动中来,有更多的机会来说英语,减少他们的恐惧感,通过学生间的合作学习,降低他们的学习难度,使他们体验到成功的喜悦。提高他们综合运用语言的能力,使各层次的学生都有所收获。

重点难点
基于上述对教材的分析,确定本课的教学重点为词汇、阅读技巧、can 的相关句型和写作能力。教学难点为正确使用本课所学来写一篇招聘教师的广告。
教学过程
活动1【导入】(一)导入新课
1. Greetings and revision.
Play a song and have the students review what they learned. For example, I can…, Can you …?
2. Pairwork
Students work in pairs and talk about what they can do to prepare for the reading. While students are talking about what they can do, lead to the topic – some one is asking for HELP, who can help them..
活动2【活动】
Task 1. Guessing game.
Show the students the photos of Peter, Ma Huan and Alan, ask the students to guess what they can do in a group of three. For example: I think Peter can play basket- ball because he looks strong.
Task 2. Fast reading
1. Students read the passages in 2a and underline what can Peter, Ma Huang and Alan
really do.
2. Students tell what the three students can really do and remember them. This
can help prepare for the further reading.
2. Show the students an ad in 2b and ask them to pay attention to the words in gold- old people and choose the title as fast as they can. Introduce key words and its importance.
3. Ask the students read the other two ads and help to choose the best title. Encourage them to pay attention to the key words and finish this task as fast as they can.
Afterwards, ask the first student with the right answer to give his or her reasons.
4. Ask the students read the passages in 2a and 2b, then match the person with the ad. Afterwards, ask the first student with the right answer to give his or her reasons.
