难点:如何正确描述Jane’s vacation

教学过程

Step1:Lead-in

问学生What do people usually do on vacation?复习相关的假期活动并引出本堂课文中的活动paragliding,并播放滑翔伞运动视频,吸引学生的注意力,激发他们的学习热情。

Step2:Presentation

观看视频后,问学生Do you find it enjoyable? Would you like to try it? 然后老师说 I want to try it like Jane.引出本节课要学的日记。

Step3: Reading and comprehension

1. 独立完成 迅速浏览文章找出这两个问题的答案(培养略读技能)

Did Jane have a good time on Monday? What about on Tuesday?

(叫同学们找出能支持这两个问题答案的描述性形容词如interesting, exciting, bad terrible.并让学生体会这些形容词的积极性和否定性表达出作者的不同情感)  

2.独立完成 迅速浏览文章回答问题(places and weather) 

 ①Which country did Jane go to on vacation?

②Which places of the country did she go to?

③How was the weather on Monday and Tuesday?

(培养学生的略读技能)

3. 四人一组 仔细阅读第一则日记,判断正误。

①Jane and her sister found paragliding exciting.

②They had delicious food for lunch.

③They walked to Georgetown in the afternoon.

④They saw many old buildings in Weld Quay.

⑤Jane didn’t like walking around Georgetown very much.

(培养学生合作能力和阅读能力)

4.四人一组 仔细阅读第二则日记,回答问题。

①Who did Jane go to Penang Hill with?

②How did they go to the top of the hill at last?

③Why were they wet and cold?

5.四人一组 完成表格,比哪组快。(同学们在对日记熟悉之后,填这个表格,降低了难度,提高了他们的阅读兴趣,同时培养了他们的合作竞争意识)

Step4: Make conversations

两人一组,编对话(同学们用刚获取的信息以对话形式谈论Jane’s vacation为完成2d 作准备)

Step5: Finish 2d (独立完成,检测学生对文章的理解)
