Encourage the students to take a trip when they feel tired and bored.Show the picture and translate it into –The world is so big that I would like to have a look.This can make the students more interested in this class

Step 2 Show the topic---My trip to…

Analyze the topic to let the students know what to think about before writing.We should use the first person pronoun with the simple past tense to write it.Then show different pictures about the trip for the students to complete sentences.This will help students to get different ideas from each picture and prepare language information for the composition.

Step 3 Listening Practice

Listen to the story about Miss Wang’s trip and choose the right answer.It can not only improve the students’ listening skills but also give the students more chances to learn about how to write the composition about the trip

Step 4 Dialogue Drills

Complete the dialogue about the trip.After checking the right answers,let the students make similar dialogues.During the dialogues,the students can communicate with each other and learn more about other people’s trips.This part can improve their spoken English and let all the students take part in the discussion

Step 5 Correct mistakes

Some students are afraid of writing because they often make mistakes in vocabulary or grammar.In order to remind the students to be careful with the spelling of the words and the right use of grammar,I’ll show some sentences with some mistakes for them to find out and correct.Through the discussion in groups,they will learn some knowledge and pay more attention when writing their own compositions.

Step 6 Assign the composition

Ask the students to write a composition----My trip to Dandong.Some pictures about places of interest in Dandong such as Yalu River and Jinjiang Mountain Park will be shown .I think this composition is nearer to our life.They will be more interested and more willing to write it .

I will ask two students to write on the blackboard as examples.When they finish writing,I will lead the whole class to examine the two compositions.Then ask them to exchange their compositions to find out and correct the mistakes.

Step 7 Conclusion and Homework

Revise what we have learned in this class.Encourage the students to practice writing more in English in our daily life.After class,please hand in the composition---My trip to Dandong.
