Step 4 Make a list of adverbs of frequency, the students go over the words again and again. And then use the words to fill in the blank.
Step 5 Practice the conversation “What do you do on weekends? I often/usually/always….”one by one, And by looking at the pictures on the screen, and then practice the conversation “What does he/she do on weekends? He/she often/always….”
Step 6 Make a list (1a)
First look at the pictures, ask the students to say what they see in the pictures, then ask them to list all the activities in the picture.
Step 7 Listening (1b)
Listen to the conversation. The people are talking about what they do on weekends. Please listen to the tape and write the activities behind the correct frequency words in the list. Make sure everyone understands what to do.
Play the tape for the first time, and students only listen. Then play it a second time. This time ask students to complete the activity individually. And then check the answers in class.
Step 8 Pair work (1c)
The students read the conversation of 1c. Then give them two minutes to recite it. Ask one or two students to recite it in class. Then let students work in pairs, make their own conversations and ask some pairs to present their conversations to the class.
