Step1. Presentation

1.Warm up: Greet students. Have students answer freely: What did you do last weekend ? Do you know what I did last weekend? I watched a movie in a movie theater .(Purpose: lead in the topic of this lesson)

2. Show pictures and ask students:

Present new words: theater, worst, screen, seat, close to, ticket, quickly

3. Show pictures and compare: It’s the biggest screens. It has the most comfortable seats….

Step2. Cooperation and exploration

1. Look at the things on the screen and discuss:

What’s important/not important to choose movie theaters? Finish 1a.

(Purpose: have students learn new words and phrases)

2. Listen to 1b and match the statements with the movie theaters.

3. Listen again. Check the answers with the students

4. Have students find out the rules of superlative forms of adj./adv.

(Purpose: enable students to get the information about the theaters)

4. Show some pictures and have students know something about the listening. (Purpose: Practice students’ listening ability)

Step3. Show comments.

Guide students to talk about their favorite movie theaters in groups. Make new dialogues like 1c by using the information in 1b .Have some pairs act out for the class.(Purpose: improve the students’ speaking ability by talking about their favorite movie theaters)

Step4. Consolidation and improvement

Do a survey . Make a report like this: In our group ,…thinks the best movie theater is Movie World .Because it has the biggest screens . ...likes …best .It has /is the … . (Purpose: Through group cooperation study ,strengthen their function pattern, developing oral skills. )

Step5. Summary

Sum-up what we have learned today.
