IV. Teaching Procedures
Step1. Lead-in
This activity will show some TV shows to the Ss and answer the questions “What do you think of these shows?” “Do you want to join the talent shows to show your talents? What can you do?”
Step 2. Presentation
A school talent show, I will give students a chance to show themselves. After that, students work in pairs who was the best performer？
e.g. A: Who was the best performer?
B: ... was the best performer.
A: Who sang the best?
B: ... sang the best.…
Step 3. Game
Work with partners. I say an adjective and students write down the superlatives quickly and put it on the blackboard. Then check the answers with the Ss.
Step 4. Listening
Work on 1c:
1. Tell Ss to look at the pictures and the names in 1c.
2. Play the recording for the Ss. Ss just listen for the first time. Play the recording again and match the pictures with the performers.
3. Check the answers.
Work on 1d:
1. Ss listen to the recording carefully and try to fill in the blanks.
2. Play the recording again and check the answers with the class.
Step 5. Pairwork
1. Work in groups. Look at the information in 1d and make a conversation with your partner.
2. Make a model for the Ss.
3. Tell Ss to make a conversation about all the performers.
4. Teacher can walk around the classroom, and give some help to the Ss.
