1. Let students learn more about history and basic knowledge of Thanksgiving Day.

Teaching procedures:

Step I Warming up

1. Show some pictures about special food and things to guess the festivals.

2. Play some music to check the festivals.

Step II Lead-in

Use the last piece of music to lead in the festival.

Have a free talk about the festival.

Step III Presentation

1. Give a calendar and learn the time.

2. With the help of a short passage and some pictures, let the Ss know the origin.

3. Through a piece of video, teach them the food and activities people have on Thanksgiving Day.

Step IV Consolidation

1. Let the students have a pair work about Thanksgiving Day with the knowledge they learnt.

2. Let them perform it out.

3. Let them give a card to the one they want to thank and write down who, why and what they can do for them.

Step V Emotional motivation

Let them enjoy a piece of video by heart.

Let them say thanks aloud.
