To learn to cooperate with others
Personal Aims 1. To offer enough input and support to students before they are ready for the output
2. Improve my timing. Don’t be over ambitious in lesson planning. (allow sts. thinking time & freedom to express themselves)
Assumptions Sts. have learned to use the target language through listening and speaking activities. I will teach them 3a-3c of unit 8 in one class (This part focuses on using the target language through writing.)
The class has previewed Unit 8, and they’ve already learned to talk about festivals and making of a few kinds of food.
Class profile and Thoughts on the planI’ve been teaching in this class for almost a year. Students here are disciplined and have good learning attitudes. Since they study in a country middle school, they haven’t been exposed to much English-learning resources before. Sometimes they do not give quick responses as is expected. What teachers can do is to slow down, guide them and enlighten them. I think students are modest and will be willing to express themselves if mutual affection is built and if there have already been enough support/input.
Students are often reluctant to express themselves because they are shy and not confident about their English speaking, being afraid of making mistakes as well. The important thing teachers can do is to make them feel they are needed and welcomed to the T and their companies. Give them more opportunities and make them feel free. I hope to make good use of the text book, search for as much information as possible to convey.
The topic I chose is related to the topic in the course book----the brief making process of certain kind of food. Lexis and grammar will not be important in this class. I hope to help develop Sts. writing skills by having them work together with T and their groupmates on writing an E-mail reply to an English speaker.Stage/
