2. Write a recipe. Procedures:

Lead-in

Greet and welcome Ss to the program A Bite of Yunnan. Show them a video about the story of Yunnan Rice Noodles. T asks Ss 3 questions about the story.

Ss predict the ingredients in the rice noodles according to the picture. Ss read the recipe and fill in the blanks. T guides Ss to find the main idea of each part. Meanwhile, go through some details. T draws a mind map on the Bb. Ss brainstorm more ingredients.

Discuss about other traditional food in Yunnan. Ask Ss to think what they miss most when they leave Yunnan for some time.

Introduce several ways of cooking rice noodles.

Divide Ss into 6 groups, and let each group choose one dish randomly to get their writing task.

Present the parts of a recipe to let Ss know the structure.

List the words about the ingredients and the amount. Tell Ss to make healthy food. Ss start to write. When they finish, put their recipes on the Bb. A few groups present their work.

Give Ss. the tasks.
