Good morning, today we’ll learn Unit 8 How can you make a banana milk shake? Section B writing. In this lesson we will learn hoe to write a recipe.

(1) To think and say the traditional food we have in China. Take rice noodles as an example to show how to write a recipe,

(2) T: Now I’d like you to watch a video, and your task is to find out how the rice noodles are made.

(3) Ask students to fill in the blinks in 3a according to the video they have seen with the given words.

(1) Underline all the verbs in the passage. T: “ Please pay attention to the verbs. As we can see they are all the base forms of verbs, so we can get to know that the tense of a recipe should be...?”

(2) First, divide the passage into three parts. Then help students to find out the framework of a recipe. And present the framework:

Step1: to point out the topic.

Step 2: to make a list of the things we need.

Step 3: to describe the steps of making.

Help students to practice step by step by providing the possible patterns of sentences. Then compose these three parts into a possible version of a recipe.

Divide students into eight groups and prepare different titles.

T: “ Suppose one of your pan pals named Angela is coming to visit you. And she asks you to introduce a special food to her. Now please write a recipe.”

Ask each group to choose the topic. Then discuss within the groups to write a recipe in ten minutes.

Ask one of the groups to display their passage in the front. Help the other groups to find out the mistakes or the good points in the passage. Then make comment.

Ask each group to exchange their passage with the near group, then make comments.
