Ⅰ. Lead-in
T and Ss share the video “ Yoyo party”
2.Teacher shows a calendar to lead students in the party.
Students guess why Saturday is very special for the teacher. Then T and Ss ask and answer “Can you come to my party?”
2. Ss try to ask and answer in pairs.
Ⅱ. Presentation
1. Brain storm
T and Ss talk about the situations “ If you invite someone, but he or she has another activity, what will he or she say?
Learn the new words and phrases by communicating with each other.
2. Consolidate the phrases by playing a guessing game.
3. Pairwork.
Ⅲ. Listening
1. Listen to the material and finish 1b.
2.Listen again and fill in the blanks.
Sum up the answers. When we accept the invitation, we can say “Sure, I’d love to./ I’d love to./ Thank you for asking me.” When we decline the invitation, we can say “ Sorry, I can’t . I have to…./ Oh, no, I can’t . I must…”
3. Ss work in pairs and answer the questions.
