Teaching procedures:

Step 1:Leading-in

T:Do you like sports?... I like sports,too.I think doing sport is a good way to keep healthy and keep fit .

(Show a piece of video about DanZhou International Marathon.)

T:Now DanZhou International Marathon is coming,I’m so excited ,do you know why?Yes,I’m going to run the marathon.

Show a picture of the teacher with running marathon.

T:I want to “invite”you to come to cheer me on.Can you come to cheer me on ?

Write the new word “invite”on the blackboard ,explain “invite” to students.

Show the other two new words “accept”and “refuse”like this way above.

(设计意图:以邀请学生为老师跑马拉松加油引出所学过的目标语言,让学生在情景对话中回顾target language)

Step 2 Try to find (Grammar Focus)

Have students read Grammar Focus box silently,ask them to try to find the sentences of accepting and refusing.Then ask two students read sentences they found.

Show three activities on the screen ,then let students choose one to talk with their partners using goal language structure“Can you ....? Sure,I’d love to...”.

(设计意图:让学生总结规律,在发现与对话中体验所学目标语言)

Step 3 Practice ( 3a)

T: Just now we talked about how to accept and refuse others’ invitations, but if we are not sure,how to answer?

Ask one student “What are you going to do on Saturday?”

T:Good,when we are not sure to do something,we can say ‘I’m not sure, I might...’or ‘I don’t know, I might ...’.

Have students to finish 3a individually first ,then talk with their partners ,Some pairs of students will be asked to act out the dialogues,let students pay attention to“might”
