Step1.Warm-up
Show a video to the students and talk about it.
Step2.Presentation
Play a game with them. Get them to make conversations with the phrases on the screen.
Talk about what they see in the picture of 1a, get them to match the phrases with the pictures. Check the answers with them.
Step3. Listening Practice.
Play the recording of 1b for them to listen for a general idea.
Play the recording for them again. Students listen and write the names next to the correct students in the picture. Check the answers with them.
Step4.Consolidation
Task1: Group work.
Get students to work in groups to practice the conversation in 1c. Then invite some groups to say their conversations.
Task2: Make a survey.
Some students are going to have parties. Get them to go around the classroom and make conversations with their classmates.
Task3: Make a report.
Get them to make a report about who can come to the party and who can’t come .If he/she can’t come, why? Make a report to the whole class.
Step5.Summary & Homework
Make a survey about if your friends can come to your party, and write a report.
