Step 1 Pre-reading
Ask the students to enjoy a video, and ask some questions about it. What are the minions going to do? After May’s friends receive her invitation, what should they do? What kind of invitation do you know?

Fast reading
Skim the passages, then ask the students to match the reason with each message.
Careful reading
Read Message 3 and complete a chart. Then help students conclude the six parts of an invitation--- who why when where what RSVP. After that, enjoy a video about how to make an invitation card.
Read Message 2 and answer some questions, helping the students think about how to turn down an invitation politely.
Read Message 1 and fill in the blanks.
Step 3 Post reading
Enjoy a video about invitations. Then encourage students to make their own invitations in groups of 4, and come to the front to show them.
Step 4 Assignment
Finish the invitation.
Search the Internet and find out more kinds of parties.
