Teaching Procedures:
Step One Warming up and leading in
Brainstorm and talk about parties:e.g types of parties, when to have them, whom to invite, what to bring, what can be done at the parties…
Ask them: If you are happy, what will you do ? Then elicit them to answer: If I`m happy , I will sing a song/dance…ect with the help of pictures shown on the big screen.
Step Two Presentation (1a & 1b)
First, have them match the sentences with the pictures (a-d), then ask one student to give his/her answers. Finally, check the answers together.
Tell students to complete the responses in 1a after they have listened the recording.
First, play the recording for the first time for them to finish the task .
Then, play the recording for a second time for them to reaffirm their answers.
Finally, check the answers together with them.
Step Three Practice (1c )
Tell students to make conversations with the help of the pictures shown on the big screen.
Step Four Drill
Consolidate the adverbial clause of condition introduced by “if” through a chain practice.
Step Five Summary
Recap what has been covered in the period through some exercises.
Step Six Homework
Tell them to write at least five complex sentences with adverbial clause of condition introduced by “if” to talk about consequences.
