(二)学情分析

八年级学生有了一定的语言基础,谈论“健康问题”话题,贴近生活实际,易于表达,学生学习热情较高,难点在于本节课是阅读课,学生对于阅读的技巧还存在可畏难心理,计划从学生擅长且易于达成的活动入手,并结合思维导图帮助学生构建阅读框架与线索,不同难度的问题采取不同的学习方式,意在于让每个学生都觉得有收获,从而树立阅读的信心。

(三)重点难点

重点:(1)掌握重点单词及用法;

难点:有效运用阅读策略理解全文。

(四)教学过程

一、Leading-in and warming-up

(1) In order to lead in the main topic, T can get Ss to watch a piece of news about a young man saved an old woman. Then ask:

Q1. What is this piece of news about?

Q2. What is a piece of news like in your mind?

Q3. What elements should a piece of news have?

Q4. If you were the young man in the news, will you help the old woman like him?

(2)Guide Ss to have a free talk in groups and share their ideas with each other.

二、 Reading Practice

(1)Pre-reading

Guide Ss to look at the title and the picture going with it only and make a prediction before reading.

Q1. What can you see from the picture?

Q2. What do you want to know from the picture?

Present several difficult words and phrases before reading like, passenger, get off, get onto/on, to one’s surprise.

While-reading

1)Ask Ss to read the passage very fast and make sure if the story comes from a book or a newspaper. T may ask:

Do you think it comes from a book or a newspaper?

How do you know?

In this way, the teacher can help the students understand the type of writing of the story.

2)Ask Ss to read the passage fast again and find out what each paragraph is about of this passage.

Para 2 The details of the news.

Para 3 The end and views of the news.
