三、Teaching steps:
Step 1 Leading in
First let students watch a video of a song and answer the question.
T: What do you think of the song ?
Ss:It’s beautiful.
T:Yes,It’s beautiful .After listening to it, it let us think when some people are in trouble,we should help them.Is that right?
Ss:That’s right.
T: What do you usually do on your free time? Would you like to volunteer to do anything for others?
Ss:Yes.
T: When you get into terrible,what should you do?
Ss: A sk someone for help.
T:I want to know how to help others. Who can tell me?
Ask students to tell the ways of helping others.
Step 2 Presentation
1.Present pictures one by one on the screen .Have Ss learn the new vocabularies and phrasal verbs .
Show some pictures and tell Ss that there are many people who need help and many people help others.
Step 3 Listening
Work on Section A 1b.
1.Tell Ss to read the sentences in the chart. Make sure they know the meaning of the sentences.listen and number the ways the boy and the girl could help others.
2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the ways the boy and girl could help others.
___ The girl could visit the sick kids in the hospital to cheer them up.
___ The boy could give out food at the food bank.
___ The girl could volunteer in an after-school study program to teach kids.
