Ask two students act in class.

Read the sentences in Grammar Focus to find out the infinitives (to do) and phrasal verbs in groups.

Step 2. Presentation

Explain the structures of the sentences. Learn the usages of “to do”.

to do (to+动词原形）：动词不定式

eg.: I hope to see you again.

eg.: He wants to play football.

eg.: Jim helped me to clean my room.

to do 无人称、时态的变化。

to do 不能作谓语。

eg.: 我理解。I to understand. ( × )

（设计说明：探讨并熟悉“to do”的用法）

Step3. Practice (A).

我想去帮助无家可归的人。

I'd like homeless people. 答案：(to help) --to do 作宾语

2. 她决定参加一个志愿者课后阅读节目的选拔。

She decided out for a volunteer after-school reading program.

答案：(to try) --to do 作宾语

3. You must learn to look after yourself.（学生1找出主、谓、宾语）

4. We are trying to work hard.（学生2找出主语、谓语、宾语）
