四、教学过程
Step 1 Warming up and revision:
Look at the pictures and have a free talk.
eg: Mario loves animals. He’d like to be an animal doctor. What kind of volunteer work could he do?
He could care for animals at an animal hospital.
Then work in pairs to talk about what you like to do and what kind of volunteer work you could do.
Step 2 Lead –in:
1.Look at the picture and ask the students “Do you know what happened to the boy?”.Let’s begin our new lesson and find out the answers.
2.Show the teaching aims.
Step 3 Presentation
1. Present the new words on the big screen and learn the new words together.
1) repair v. 修理;修补 2) fix v. 安装;使固定
3) give away 赠送;捐赠 4) wheel n. 车轮;轮子 5.broken adj 破损的
2. Ss read and try to remember the examples.
3. Look at the pictures and learn the phrases
eg: run out of take after fix up give away
Step 4 1a,1b.
1. Read the sentences and match the sentences with similar meanings.
Check the answers.
2. Ask one student read the phrases and the nouns. Tell Ss to match the phrasal verbs with the nouns. Then make sentences with the phrases.
3. Check their desk mates’ sentences.
e.g. 1. I took after my father.
2. I gave away my old clothes to the poor kid.
Step 5 Pre—Listening:
Have the students look at the big screen and try to describe the boy according to the questions.
eg: Does he have money in his pocket?
Step 6 1c,1d
Listen and number the pictures (1—4)in the correct order.
