Step I learn by yourselves
1 Review by talking about the language goal in this unit: offer help
2 Write down the follwing verb phrases and be ready to add more in this period.
clear up cheer up give out come up with /think up put off
put up hand out call up give away
Step II cooperative leaning
1 Show the new words on the screen and make sure they can understand .
2 Ask students to finish 1a by themselves.They can discuss and tell why they do that like this .
3 Check the answers and review the phrasal verbs again by using the follow ways .
e g to give a phone call to somebody (call up)
4 Students finish 1b and then make their own new sentences.
5 Look at the pictures in 1c and understand the meaning of each picture(questions are shown on the screen.)
6 Play the recording the first time ,and students number the pictures 1—4 in the correct order.
7 Play the recording the second time and check the answers in 1d. Students can read the sentences first .If they have the wrong sentences ,they should tell the right ones and write them down next to the sentences.
8 Students work in pairs and recite the stories and be ready for 1e.
