Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Greetings
Greet the whole class and introduce myself.
Step 2 Lead-in
Ask the students 1. Do you often help your parents do chores at home? 2. What chores do you help your parents to do? and revise these phrases:do chores,sweep the floor,do the dishes,make the bed,take out the rubbish,fold the clothes,clean the living room.
Step3 Memory game
Show students pictures quickly then cover them and ask students to say what chores they do.
Step 4 Watch a video
Watch a video about Snow White and Animals to answer the questions “what chores are Snow White and Animals doing?”to consolidate and interest students
Step 5 Practice
1. To review and consolidate the target language for making polite requests and asking for permission and how to response by looking at pictures in the screen and asking and answering between the teacher and students
2. Ask the students to work in pairs and make the conversations about making polite requests and asking for permission. Then ask some pairs to act out their conversations
Step 6 Consolidation
1. Let the students read the grammar focus and summarize the use of Could you please…? and Could I …?and how to response them.
2. 4a First ask the students to read the sentences,then decide whether they are requests or permissions. Then match each one with the correct response.
3. 4b First ask the students to fill in the blanks in the conversation by themselves and then ask them to check the answers in pairs.
