(Purpose: By giving advice and making their own conversations, students put what they have just reviewed into practice. Also they can get ready for the listening practice.)
Step 4. Listening practice.
Students listen to a tape twice and then fill in the blanks.
(Purpose: The listening material is made particularly to meet the standards of the Senior High School Entrance Examination. Improve students’ listening skills and also their exam strategies.)

Task 1: General analysis of the genre of news.
(Purpose: Showing 3 tips to help students to figure out news when reading.)

Task 5: Retell the ending of the story and also the views of the writer.
(Purpose: Help students to analyze and write the tail of the news.)
Task 6: Overall reading.
(Purpose: By analyzing the passage according to the head, body, and tail, students will have a better understanding of news. This will help students with their further reading and writing of news.)
Task 7: Exercise of cloze.
(Purpose: Get students ready for the Senior High School Entrance Examination.)

Have a discussion.
(Purpose: Help students get moral education and arouse their social awareness.)
