To improve the students’ writing skills .

【设计意图】:采用learning by themselves or in groups 等学习策略,利用教学图片或制作多媒体课件展开课堂教学,提高学生skimming and scanning的阅读能力,通过帮助别人解决健康问题和医生病人的对话写作等方式学习给别人建议。

3.Emotion Aims:

To know the importance of making good decisions and being in control of our life.

To give advice about accidents or problems.

【设计意图】:本节课的学习给学生人生的启迪,通过文章的学习,教育学生把握人生的方向,在重要时期做出好的决定;写作主题是谈论健康问题和给出建议,进一步促进学生之间的互相帮助,帮助别人就是帮助我们自己。其次着重提高学生对英语的学习热情,树立学习英语的自信心,并培养学生观察和主动竞争的意识。

Step1 Warming-up

Did you have a good weekend?(Yes) What did you do on the weekend? Ask some students to answer the teacher’s question.( I did my homework./I watched some wonderful movies) Did you go to the cinema? (No)Where did you watch the movies?( ON the Internet) Students, Do you like watching movies ? (Yes) Today I introduce you a movie “127hours”

【Before reading】

Let the students watch a video and find out : Who’s the man? What happened to the man at the end of the video?

【设计意图】: 通过与学生的交流,拉近与学生的距离,引导学生观看127hours 视频。让学生带着问题去观摩视频,一是集中学生的注意力,二是引起学生思考,视频与本节课的内容有什么联系。

Step2 Leading in

After watching the video, let the students answer the teacher’s questions. Who is the man?What happened to the man at the end of the video? (He is Aron Ralston.He was caught under a big rock)Then ask “What does every second counts?” “Do you think the man will survive or die?

Then the teacher introduces : Aron Ralston is a mountain climber who is known for taking risks .Do you want to read his story?

【设计意图】:学生通过视频的观看,抓住了关键人物,同时知道了事件,很想了解时间的结果和人物的故事,从而有了好奇心和学习的兴趣。

Step3【While reading:】

Reading para1 :let’s know about Aron.

Scanning : Moving your eyes quickly down the page to find specific information.

Who?Hobby?From?When?What happened?Where the accident happened?

【设计意图】:指导学生scanning 的方法(快速阅读文章,寻找特定的信息,寻找能回答问题的相关信息。),通过表格信息,让学生对人物进行初步了解。
