让学生了解每个人在生活中都有可能遇到一些挫折和不幸,我们应该多去向那些不幸和困难的人们多表示自己的爱心,多去理解和帮助他们,多向他们提出解决问题的建议而不是去嘲笑他们。

二、教学重点和难点

1. 熟练掌握和运用询问困难和提建议的表达方式,注意区分情态动词could 和should在表达建议时的区别。

2. 了解连词although, until, so that的基本意思和用法,熟练运用。

三、教学过程

Step 1 Greetings.

Step 2 Warming- up and revision

Complete the conversation to rewiew how to ask for the problem and give proper advice.

Girl: Peter, you look unhappy.________________?

Boy: I had a fight with my best friend. _____________?

Girl: Well, I think _____________.

(Ask several pairs of students to make the conversation to rewiew what they learned in the first two periods and lead in the new topic.)

Step 3 Grammar Focus.

1. Make a list of the useful structures about how to give advice to others.??

You should/could +v.

Why don’t you +v.?

Why not +v.?

Could you please +v.?

You’d better (not) +v.

Would you mind doing……?

What about/How about + n./doing……?

(Underline the form of the verb in each structure to draw their attention, and then help the students to use them give Peter as much advice as possible.)

2. Do more exercises to consolidate the useful structrues.
